Compatibility

Kadee #158 couplers are suitable for many HO scale locomotives and rolling stock equipped with medium-centerset knuckle couplers.

They are a scale-head alternative to Kadee #148 and are interchangeable in many applications with Kadee #5, #28, and #58 couplers.

The included #242 insulated gear boxes can be used where a replacement mounting box is required.

Installation Note: Check coupler mounting height and clearance before installation. Avoid mounting metal couplers directly in metal draft gear boxes where electrical shorts could occur.
